Hi, I am Tom Hawkesworth . I have worked in mental health for over 25 years, most recently for an NHS Talking Therapies service as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapist (EMDR).

I also have a Post Graduate Diploma in Mindfulness studies and often integrate mindfulness and related modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.

I have worked with a range of conditions including anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, PTSD, Eating Disorders, and many others. I tend to take a trauma informed approach and have worked in a specialist complex PTSD pathway.

  • CBT

    Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) iS a structured, evidence-based psychotherapy that targets unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

    Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy for trauma and PTSD and iS also now applied to a of issues including low self esteem, anxjetjes or eating disorders, It uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, taps, or tones) while recalling distressing memories to reprocess them. reaucing emotional charge.

With over 25 years of dedicated experience in the mental health field, I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and a trained Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, proudly registered with both BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) and EMDR UK.   • Yes, I offer online therapy sessions via secure video conferencing. Online therapy is a great option if you have a busy schedule or if you’re unable to attend in-person sessions. It’s just as effective as face-to-face therapy and can be done from the comfort of your own home.

  • You can easily book a session through the online booking system on my website. Alternatively, feel free to contact me directly via email or phone, and I’ll be happy to assist with scheduling.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please give at least 24 hours' notice. This will allow me to offer the time slot to another client. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you may be charged for the session.
